The DHD/DDD 2027 Global Forum: Toward a Unifying Heart

About the DDD (Daedong Discourse on Development) The DCD/DDD is a global policy forum dedicated to operationalizing the 1975 Mandate for permanent neutral peaceful reunification. By bridging the empirical 1937 archives of the Daedong Rural Company with contemporary strategic necessities, the DDD facilitates a rigorous discourse on how a sovereign state functions as a stabilizing pivot in Northeast Asia.

We are currently convening a global coalition to address a pressing historical necessity: the future of the Korean Peninsula in the age of AI hegemony. As the world navigates rapid technological and geopolitical shifts, our initiative seeks to bridge the gap between empirical historical precedents and modern strategic necessity.

The DHD/DDD 2027 Global Forum is dedicated to moving the discourse of Neutrality (중립) from theoretical debate into operational reality. We are currently building a collaborative framework that engages diverse global perspectives—including leaders in sustainability, policy, and humanistic philosophy—to explore how a sovereign state can function as a stabilizing pivot in Northeast Asia.

Our goal is to foster a dialogue that goes beyond the limitations of traditional geopolitics, grounding our search for stability in the philosophy of the "Unifying Heart" (대동, Great Unity). We are inviting partners and thinkers who share the conviction that the path to a peaceful Peninsula lies in evidence-based policy, rigorous discourse, and the ethical management of artificial intelligence.

The Path to Korean Neutrality in the Era of AI Hegemony

—A Humanism of Coexistence Transcending Technology, Power, and Ideological Barriers—

By Vana Kim Hansen & Jongho Joh

In a world dominated by AI, what will save us is not algorithms, but ‘Maternal Instincts’ and ‘Hongik’ (Great Harmony).

The world is changing rapidly. The AI industrial revolution is not merely a technological shift; it is fundamentally altering industries, professions, education, social systems, and the structure of national power. If a nation fails to lead in AI technology, even major corporations can be left behind, and global powers can be displaced.

The Path to Korean Neutrality in the Era of AI Hegemony explores the path the Korean Peninsula must take amidst this new reality. We have analyzed the AI industrial revolution, shifts in international relations, the crisis in inter-Korean relations, and internal social division and conflict. The core focus is on the "conditions for coexistence" that allow both Koreas to survive, moving beyond simple factional logic. It explores the possibility of Korean neutralization from historical, political, and philosophical perspectives, offering humanistic alternatives that differ from existing unification discourse.

The core of this book lies in ‘Vital Maternal Instincts’ (생명모성) and ‘Hongik.’ Maternal instinct, in this context, is not limited to femininity or nurturing; it is a fundamental force that sustains all life and existence, encompassing men as well. It is a force that embraces and dissolves even the negative emotions within humans—hatred, fear, shame, inferiority, anger, and loneliness.

This vital maternal instinct is not limited to humans. It is an expanded concept that includes ‘AI humans’ (electronic humans) that have already surpassed human intelligence. Ultimately, what is needed in the era of AI hegemony is not powerful algorithms or accelerated computing, but an ethical foundation in which humans, technology, and nature can coexist in harmony.

‘Vital Maternal Instincts’ and ‘Hongik Ingan’ (the philosophy of benefiting all mankind) point in the same direction, as both emphasize the fact that "human life coexists with all life on Earth." Hongik is the philosophical language, and maternal instinct is its functional spirit. The value of coexistence pursued by Hongik Ingan can be realized in reality through the psychological power of vital maternal instincts. Dangun is the founding father of both Koreas, and vital maternal instincts that advocate for saving all things can offer a vision for the coexistence of AI and humans, as well as for inter-Korean harmony. Hongik Ingan is an ideology that enables both Koreas to respect each other and alleviate ideological confrontation.

In an era where technology outpaces humanity, humans must possess a philosophy capable of protecting their own humanity. The future of the Korean Peninsula begins not with the victory or defeat of hegemonic competition, but with the establishment of conditions for coexistence.
